A sebaceous cyst
----is a slow-growing, non-cancerous lump under the skin, often appearing as a small bump with a tiny central hole. It forms when a sebaceous gland or hair follicle becomes blocked, trapping sebum (oily skin substance) and other materials. While usually painless, a cyst can become inflamed, infected, and painful, sometimes releasing a foul-smelling, cheesy discharge. Treatment involves surgical removal for persistent ones.
